Eco-Drive utilizes an ultra-low-power microcomputer to manage both the depth meter and altimeter functions. When activated, the microcomputer processes sensor data to deliver accurate depth or altitude readings by adjusting the watch hands accordingly. Additionally, it oversees the watch's overall performance, including battery voltage, energy generation, and temperature. Despite the CPU’s low clock speed, its ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously stems from CITIZEN’s extensive expertise in optimizing Eco-Drive’s power efficiency. GUARDING AGAINST ACCIDENTAL ROTATION

The PROMASTER features a unidirectional bezel, adhering to ISO standards for diving watches, which enhances safety by preventing accidental bezel rotation during a dive. This design ensures that the bezel only moves in one direction, reducing the risk of miscalculations. Additionally, the Eco-Drive Professional Diver 1000m model includes a bezel-locking mechanism for extra security, keeping the bezel firmly in place and further improving reliability and safety for divers.

PROMASTER’s photo-luminescent markings rapidly absorb light and remain bright for extended periods, covering a significant portion of the hands. We rigorously tested various colors for the dial and hands to identify the optimal combination for underwater visibility. KEEPING THE HANDS IN POSITION

In environments with frequent obstacles—whether at sea, on land, or in the sky—there's a risk of bumping your PROMASTER and misaligning the hands. CITIZEN’s proprietary shock counteraction function addresses this issue. When the watch experiences a shock or strong vibration, an electrical signal instantly activates the motor to temporarily lock the rotor, preventing the hands from shifting. This process occurs in just one-thousandth of a second, ensuring that the watch corrects any deviation and resumes accurate timekeeping before you even notice the impact.

DISPLAY DEPTH EVEN IN TIME DISPLAY MODE

In 1985, we launched the world’s first diver’s watch with an electronic depth meter. The PROMASTER depth meter has since advanced significantly. The water pressure sensor, located at 3 o’clock on the case, begins measuring depth after just two seconds of water contact, with a maximum range of 70 meters. Depth readings start from 0 meters at 3 o’clock and increase by ±1 meter up to 40 meters, then by ±2 meters from 40 to 70 meters for clarity. The watch also allows simultaneous display of time, current depth, and maximum depth, eliminating mode-switching and keeping your hands free during dives.
